The Brief
Synechis were entrusted to comprehensively overhaul the website. The previous WordPress site had a lot of content that lacked structure and made it confusing to navigate. Copy was long and the site had a heavy and dated look and feel. Prior to our involvement, an unsuccessful attempt had been made to redesign and redevelop the website that Callidus felt did not reflect their vision, so it was important to create a new website that did just that.
Solution
We kicked off by conducting workshops and face to face meetings during a fast and intensive discovery and planning phase to unpack the complexity in the existing content, create a fresh architecture and inform the design.
Callidus have a series of impressive case studies and the pride the team has in their work and the results they deliver for clients shone through along with the personable company culture. That enabled us to distil what Callidus wanted to communicate into the broad sections of the website as company, services, case studies and articles.
Under those sections, we created a top-level mega menu and introduced section navigation to drill down into detailed content.
Our designers then developed a range of concepts and engaged with staff to find the right balance between professionalism and character. Over time, colours had been introduced that were adding to the noise of the complex content, so we went back to the original brand guidelines based on the primary Callidus green and tried to achieve an injection of colour without becoming too abrasive. Iterating through design phases and gathering feedback from the stakeholders, we added a splash of yellow to elements, which brought lifeĀ and energy to the designs whilst remaining subtle.

A second phase of development centred around expanding the services and training sections and some design enhancements. For this part of the project, we worked remotely due to the pandemic. One challenge we faced was that the pandemic limited our options for photography It was impossible to shoot the team together or shots on location, so we got creative with stylising images.
The new website was launched in September 2020, so Callidus has a website the whole team can be proud of, that showcases their excellent work and can serve as a platform for growth online.
